San Diego Trip 08

I have been meaning to update this journal every day since we returned from San Diego but its been kind of crazy (all of which I will update in another entry). We had a wonderful time in San Diego, we got to experience things through Jacks eyes this time around and it was a lot of fun. It was also great for him to meet the family and friends that he hasn't met yet. Though he was cutting teeth and had an ear infection the entire time (we found this out when we returned home) so he was a little bit cranky at times. Here is a day by day breakdown of our trip for those of you interested... Big

We flew in Saturday night and then spent the next few days at my dads. My dad hadn't met jack yet so this gave them some bonding time. We got our Mexican food fix, went to a Babys-R-Us (we don't have one in Wilmington), spent some time by the pool and just relaxed. It was very nice.

Tuesday was spent at the San Diego Zoo...jack loved the snakes and anything under water (as you will see from the pics). Oh and he loved petting the goats. We had a nice Spaghetti dinner with quite a few friends. It was delicious..both the food and friends. Smile

Wednesday we went to the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla and then walked around for a while. The weather was beautiful and Jack loved all the fishes. We then met Natalie and my cousin Laurie and Souplantation for dinner. Boy do I miss that place!

Thursday was spent hanging out..I got one of those spray on tans so I could have a little bit of color for the wedding (definitely worth the $$ for a special occasion ladies). We then made our way up to a pre-wedding BBQ in Vista. Our good friends Adam and Nicole were the ones getting married and hosting the BBQ. They just recently purchased their first house in Vista and were in the process of remodeling it. The carpet hadn't been installed yet (darn home depot) but Jack had a great time making a ton of noise just to hear the echo. LOL yeah, not so funny at 6am...

Friday we drove to Temecula, where the wedding was to be held at a Winery, and got ready for the Bachelorette Party that night. The party turned out really nice but it was really hard being away from Jack and Matt all night long. Matt did a great job with Jack though and i was able to have a stress-free ladies night out. Let me tell you one thing though...it is really hard to be away from your baby (and a pump for that matter) when you are breast-feeding! I woke up the next morning and even with only 3 hours of sleep, made my way back to Jack so he could feed a little.

Saturday we went to Legoland. That place is pretty freaking cool...Jack liked the few rides we were able to take him on and love the water areas. I really want to go back next year when Jack is a little bit older. I think he will enjoy himself even more then.

Sunday was all wedding stuff. I was the Maid of honor so there was a lot planned for me that day. Matt did great with Jack...hanging out with hiim while I got my hair and nails done, then getting him dressed and meeting me at the winery. The wedding was that evening..Jack slept through the ceremony and was then up all throughout dinner and the reception. He didn't fuss or cry once though..I was so proud of him. He loved all the people and especially the music. He was even dancing for a little bit there. Oh and he caught the garter belt. LOL

Monday we made our way back down to San Diego. We stopped at the Cemetery to visit Marcia and Rogerio and then had dinner with friends before heading to my dad's to spend our last night. It was really hard saying goodbye to everyone...we had such a wonderful time.

Tuesday we flew home. We weren't really sure what to expect when we got home since Tropical Storm Hannah had hit our area while we were gone but thankfully we weathered the storm just fine. It was so nice to see our animals again too..thank you to Buddy and Misty for taking such great care of the dogs and to our neighbor, Linda, for watching our cats and fish.
