Jack just can't catch a break this winter. The poor little guy is sick again...this time is a stomach bug. He woke up at 2am with last nights dinner all over the crib (yes this was a ton of fun cleaning up). He continued to throw up everything we tried to give him until about 6 am when we spoke to the on call nurse at our Peds office. She said to give him 2 tsp of water every 5 min for 2 hours. This was so much harder than I thought it would be.....he just wanted more water so he was pissed that I wouldn't give him any more. He screamed, threw things and just freaked out for an hour before Barney did the trick. Yes, Barney! Thank goodness for him. As soon as Jack heard the show, he quieted down..took the water well and then fell asleep.
Thankfully he slept for a few hours and we went to the doc's office where I was told he has a virus and we just have to keep doing what we are doing and wait it out. Luckily, the vomitting stopped but the diarrhea is still present. You don't want to smell that either! He is currently sleeping (hopefully for a while) and we will try to nurse once he wakes up. Keep your fingers crossed that he can keep that down.
