Our Travels

Well the last few months have been busy ones. Jack and I have traveled across the country and back and Matt has been to NYC to keep us safe. We are all glad to finally be home together for a while. :) While it was fun to see everyone, traveling by yourself with a toddler is not an easy thing to do. Especially when he is a mama's boy! Here is a brief synopsis of where we went, what we did and who we saw:

September 12th - 16th - Jack and I flew to San Francisco. It was a LONG flight but we made it in one piece and so did all of our luggage. We stayed with my Uncle Jeff and Aunt Peggy. Jack had a hard time adjusting to the time change at first, it took about 3 days for him to be adjusted. Just when he was getting comfortable, we left for San Diego. We had a wonderful time seeing the Heath clan though. My grandfather came to dinner every night and seemed to have a good time getting to know Jack as did my Aunt Debby. Jack loved showing everyone his cars and trucks and playing at the park. We went to the park almost every day since it was so fantastic. Jeff took Jacl and I to the fire house where he volunteers on our way out of town. J loved it! Here are some pictures:

September 16th - 28th - San Diego! It was great to be back in my home town again though it changes every time we go back. We stayed with our friends Chad and Lisa for the first week and then we stayed with my dad. I was in a wedding on the 20th so most of that first weekend was spent doing wedding stuff. Congrats to Julie and Karl. The wedding was so beautiful and I was so proud to be in it. I also met some great new friends. Pictures to come in a separate post.

After the wedding was over, Jack and I did some touristy stuff and more visiting. We met some friends at Sea World, traveled up to North county a few times, held a new baby (congrats Krista and Jason), did shopping, ate good food, went to the zoo with Dad and Andrew and spent quality time with some great people.

Even though we still missed some people while in San Diego, we were ready to come home. It had been a long few weeks. The flight home was another long one - we left San Diego at 11am and didn't get home (to our house) until 11:30pm. Phew! We didn't even have Matt there to pick us up since he was still working in NYC. Thankfully, I met a nice bell boy who helped us cart our luggage to the rental car and off we went. It took us a few days to get acclimated to East coast time but it helped being back in our own beds. We were home just a few days before we all had to turn around and drive up to MD to see the Rogers family and pick up the dogs. More about that below.
