A Jack Update

Today we saw a new doctor, a Pediatric Rheumotologist. This makes three doctors so far (not counting his primary care doctor).  All to figure out why he has this abnormal blood work and possibly why everything moves through him so quickly.  We aren't sure if the two are related but we can't rule it out just yet.  We talked for quite a while with the doctor about what has been going on for the last year and a half and she examined Jack and answered questions.  She told me that she couldn't rule out the fact that Jack might have an autoimmune disease but she also mentioned to me that most people with an AI disease have high protein levels (Jack's is low) so to me this is a little encouraging.  She told me about a thyroid disease (I can't remember the name) that could be causing his high SED rate (a measure of inflammation) but would not be affected by his Thyroid medication.  The doctor wanted to do more blood work (I was expecting this) and jack did great again.  He is such a trooper.  She also wants Jack to see an Opthamologist to see if he has the same condition that Matt has, Uveitis.  We go back to see her in 4 weeks and she will call us if there are any abnormalities in the blood work.  So now we wait some more...  

Our next appt is with an Allergy and Immunology doctor on the 18th.
